An autopsy was unable to determine the cause of death of a decomposed body found in Campbell Creek Friday night.

But Alaska State Trooper spokesman Paul Edscorn said today it doesn't appear as if the man was murdered.

It has been determined the body was that of a white male in his late 30s or early 40s. He was 5-foot-7, weighed about 160 pounds and was of medium build.

"There was no clothing found nor were there any identifiable marks on the body," Edscorn said.

The autopsy was unable to determine when the man died because of the water and weather conditions.

The body was discovered Friday by hikers near Stuckagain Road in a 300-foot ravine in Campbell Creek. The body was snagged on a log jam in the middle of the south fork of the creek about half a mile from the road.

Troopers are asking anyone with information which could help identify the victim and the cause of death to call Lt. John Lucking at 264-5511.
